In this training we link our 12 key messages to the ‘Five to Thrive’ approach developed by KCA (Knowledge, Connect, Action.) We recognise the link between infant mental health, brain development and speech, language and communication skills. This training includes tips and strategies you can use as a parent, carer or practitioner to maximise opportunities for positive interaction in daily activities and routines.

In this training we explore how speech, language and communication skills develop, including developmental milestones for speech, language and communication. We also share activities and strategies to support babies, children and young people at different ages and stages and explain when onward referral is appropriate. Anyone that attends the Level 1 training will receive a digital version of the Help Kids Talk Level 1 Training Manual.

Help Kids Talk have created a ‘Bitesize Series’ which is a collection of very short films for parents, carers and practitioners as they support the speech, language and communication development of babies, children and young people. Many of the participants in the bitesize sessions share from their own lived experience and offer us great insights, tips and advice.
